Met Consultancy Group has future proofed its building information modelling (BIM) capability with a £65,000 investment in 3D Autodesk infrastructure software.
Procured through design technology specialists, Cadline, the investment in Autodesk infrastructure software will enable Met Consultancy to deliver 3D model based survey and engineering design services to supplement traditional 2D, geometry based designs.
“Many of our clients now require deliverables to work directly with their BIM designs, including an as-built model in Revit and other associated survey data we would generally produce,” says Met Consultancy’s Network/Systems Administrator, Matthew Hall.
Autodesk Infrastructure Design Suite, which includes Autodesk Civil 3D was selected to replace the existing AutoCAD and Causeway PDS work-flows as the survey, ground modelling, documentation and visualisation tools support a flexible workflow that will allow Met Consultancy to produce enhanced drawings and data in shorter time-scales.
In addition the choice of Autodesk technology maintains a high level of compatibility with Met’s established supply chain, client networks and other members of the Met Consultancy team.
“In addition to improved work-flow and consistent client deliverables, it was essential that our move to taking on more 3D and BIM related projects was as seamless as possible and resulted in a package that was easy to implement and operate internally, and in achieving that the support of Cadline has been invaluable to us,” says Matthew Hall.
Cadline specialises in the supply of innovative design technology and associated consultancy, integration and professional services covering Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Process and Plant and Structural Analysis. The company is one of only 14 Autodesk Platinum Tier Status awarded partners worldwide.
In addition to supplying the suite of Autodesk Products: ’Infrastructure Design Premium’, as well as ‘Autodesk Building Design Suite premium’ and ‘Autodesk Vehicle Tracking’, Cadline supported Met Consultancy with training and implementation services to ensure a seamless and successful adoption of Autodesk infrastructure design technology.
