Project Overview
Tottenham’s Future is a 20 year plan for the redevelopment of Tottenham in Haringey, north London. Running over multiple phases, the redevelopment has the potential to create thousands of new job opportunities in and around the area.
As part of this plan, Tottenham Hale has been identified as an area for significant investment; proposals include a new urban centre for the area, with residential and green spaces and an international transport hub.
During the pre-planning process for the Tottenham Hale development project, Met Consultancy was commissioned to provide baseline data for a wide range of topographical and utility surveys as well as laser scans and survey data from building facades.

Technical Overview
Our primary task was to provide detailed, accurate information to inform the redevelopment plans of the Tottenham Hale area around the tube station and bus station.
Our team of surveyors provided topographical data and reports in addition to details of underground utilities, so that potential conflicts could be recognised and utility diversions planned. Met also conducted laser scan surveys to gather detailed information on buildings and landscape, which fed into the architect’s designs and helped assess massing and rights of light.
The surveys were required rapidly and, due to flexible working hours and efficient data collection, were able to be delivered ahead of a strict deadline. As is regularly the case in areas with high daytime pedestrian throughput and constant traffic flow, night-time work was undertaken to facilitate access to buildings, car parks and the main bus station, which would otherwise be restricted.
