  • Topographical Survey
  • Drainage Inverts
  • Drone Flight

Project Overview

Met Geo Environmental were engaged to undertake a topographical survey and measurement of drainage inverts at Scarborough Rugby Club covering all the site including car parks, pitches and training areas.

Traditionally this would involve surveyors walking a grid of levels across the pitches and other open grassy spaces. As it is now off-season the pitches had recently been reseeded and the client did not want our surveyors walking across and damaging the seeded areas.

Met utilized one of its drone fleet to undertake a flight to capture a series of photos to be able to extract the survey data required to produce the survey drawing.

The use of a drone is a cost-effective method in capturing data where there are clear lines of sight. It reduces the time required on site and in this case removes the need to walk on the re-seeded areas.

The drone flight was supplemented with conventional survey methods around areas of vegetation and car parks.
