In July and August Met have invested heavily in new equipment to improve the speed and detection capabilities of the utility mapping team.
A new Proteus CCTV crawler system will enable motorised inspection and tracing of drainage pipes and culverts up to 200m in length and up to 1.2m in diameter.
The Stream C multi-channel array Ground Penetrating Radar system provides the survey teams with the ability to collect more radar data more quickly, enabling larger area coverage. The position of the radar is automatically tracked using GPS mounted onboard or via the new Trimble S5 Total Stations.
